Next door, The Oaks Mall (6419 W Newberry Road) opened in February 1978, with about 906,000 square feet and 119 stores anchored by Belk, two Dillard's stores, JCPenney and UF Health. Hospital, clinic, office and retail staff live nearby and move year-round, not just in August. Middle — condo country: The Oaks condominiums (6519 W Newberry Road) are individually owned units in buildings dating to 1972, so there is no single move policy — each owner sets rules for keys, parking and deposits. Single-family subdivisions fill the blocks between Newberry Road, NW 23rd Avenue and NW 43rd Street, with household moves timed to closings. West end — Jonesville: past I-75 the road reaches Jonesville, an unincorporated community at County Road 241 and SR-26, with the Publix at Steeplechase (14130 W Newberry Road), Jonesville Plaza and Jonesville Park. Schedule Around the Road, Not Just the Building

Every corridor has a pinch point. Midtown's is elevators and 34th Street's is stairs; Newberry Road's is the road itself. I-75 Exit 387 (the SR-26 interchange) is the hinge for the hospital, the mall and most west-side addresses, so load early and roll before late-morning retail traffic builds — a truck stuck at the interchange burns paid crew time. Do not stage in retail or hospital lots: The Oaks Mall, Newberry Square (900–1240 NW 76th Boulevard) and the hospital campus are working properties. Stage at your own unit or house, with your manager's or HOA's knowledge. Condo moves run on the owner's rules — at The Oaks and other individually owned condos, confirm move windows, parking and entry codes with your own owner or manager in writing; a neighbor's rules are not yours. Two exceptions. First, The Oaks still feels the student calendar at the edges — individually leased condos near the mall also rent to students and young professionals, so late July and August bring extra trucks to the same lots; book early if your lease turns then. Second, retail and game-day traffic are real: the mall draws shoppers from an 11-county trade area, and fall home football Saturdays push west-side traffic up.
